Baptized after the name of the famous explorer Georgij Sedov, known for being one of the first to have charted the Arctic, the impressive Russian four-masted Sedov is the largest training ship in the world with its 117, 50 meters of hull.
Initially intended for trade, in 1950 she became a ship dedicated to oceanographic research, before working from the 1960s for the training of sailors, welcoming each year a team of 65 sailors and 164 cadets for sea voyages of several month.
Having been unable to cross the Aquitaine bridge, prevented by its 57 meter masts during the historic Cutty Sark of 1990, the Sedov will sail for the first time the Garonne until the Port of the Moon.
