A new production by the Bordeaux Opera

For this new production by the Académie de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux, the young artists present a modern take on a great classic: *Manon* by Jules Massenet. The opera, adapted from the novel by Abbé Prévost, tells the story of the downfall of two young people who ask for nothing more than the freedom to love one another. In the vision of Valentin Sueul and Mathilde Juillard, the action centres on the heroine and the men in her life. A destiny that oscillates between desire, security, confinement, and the dream of regained freedom.
