Bleu Sauvage: street art moves into the Musée Mer Marine

From September 11, 2026 to January 3, 2027, the Musée Mer Marine hosts Bleu Sauvage, a brand-new exhibition by artist A-MO.

Around sixty works between tags and wild animals

Some sixty original works will bring wildlife into the halls of the Bordeaux museum. A-MO, a self-taught artist, made a name for himself with a technique all his own, "paintag": hundreds of spray-painted or marker tags overlap and intertwine, so that up close the viewer sees only a tangle of signatures, while stepping back reveals an animal figure — tigers, deer, or kingfishers come to life on the walls. Noticed after winning the Vibrations Urbaines national urban art competition in 2015, his work has since entered the private collection of patron Bernard Magrez and has been shown at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Libourne.

Blue as the guiding thread

With this exhibition, the Musée Mer Marine continues its commitment to biodiversity, building on its past collaborations with National Geographic and on the local artists already showcased in previous shows. Blue, the guiding thread of the exhibition, takes center stage: a color rarely found in the animal kingdom, it evokes the sky and the sea here, serving as the backdrop for this ode to wild beauty. The exhibition will also give a platform to other figures from the Bordeaux street art scene, continuing the museum's approach of putting the living world back at the center of visitors' attention.
