Check out the exhibition “Pauline Deltour: An Apparent Simplicity” at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design through September, 09, 2026.
Pauline Deltour, a designer on the move
In just ten years, Pauline Deltour has established herself as a leading figure in design. Since founding her studio in 2010, she has designed and brought to market nearly 180 objects. She first gained attention with a simple and elegant project: wire baskets produced by the Italian brand Alessi.
Since then, she has expanded her collaborations across a wide range of fields: furniture, jewelry, everyday objects, and even technological design. Her work spans from an easy-to-move stool to a ring with intertwined shapes, all the way to a connected bicycle designed for La Poste.
Ten years of creation, 180 objects
Drawing on her studio’s archives (drawings, photographs, models), the exhibition offers a glimpse into her working process. It reveals a rigorous method, shaped by her experience working with designer Konstantin Grcic in Munich. Pauline Deltour places great importance on materials, manufacturing techniques, and tools, which she scrutinizes closely to turn constraints into strengths.
The exhibition highlights the diversity of her projects and the richness of her international career, spanning Japan, Italy, Colombia, and the United States. Objects, furniture, and creations produced specifically for the occasion will offer visitors a tangible and sensory exploration of her world. A monographic publication will accompany the exhibition, featuring texts by the curators and several guest authors.
