7 February 2026 - 2 January 2027
Les Bassins des Lumières presents its new immersive exhibition, an invitation to discover the flamboyant world of Matisse.
Discover the world of Henri Matisse
From February 7, 2026, the Bassins des Lumières in Bordeaux will be adorned with the vibrant colors of Henri Matisse. With “Matisse, la symphonie des couleurs” (Matisse, the symphony of colors), get ready for an immersive journey into the heart of the Fauvist master's work: fish and dancers in motion, luminous plant motifs, vibrant landscapes... The monumental projections are reflected in the water of the pools, creating a unique sensory experience where light and color become the true heroes.
A spectacular visual show to discover the painter
This spectacular 45-minute visual show traces the painter's career, from his Impressionist beginnings to his most stylized creations, including the famous Blue Nudes and the shimmering harmonies of Luxe, calme et volupté.
Short program: Frida Kahlo
Alternating with the main show, a shorter program pays tribute to Frida Kahlo. “Frida Kahlo, en plein cœur” reveals the Mexican artist's metamorphosis: from pain and the search for self to the flamboyant affirmation of her identity, carried by her intense colors and iconic motifs.
Two powerful worlds, two perspectives on color, for a poetic and captivating immersion into the heart of modern artistic creation.
