Inspired by a Japanese folktale, this orchestral work – commissioned by the Victor Hugo Orchestra and awarded a prize at the Besançon International Composition Competition for Young Audiences – tells the extraordinary story of Momo, a mysterious child born of a stream and raised by his mother on the riverbank. With the help of his new friends – a monkey, a dog and a pheasant, also drawn from the ranks of the musicians of the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine – Momo sets off on an adventure to the other bank, to the ogre’s castle…
