The Kruzenshtern, which was designed in 1926 by the German army and has been flying the Russian flag since 1946, is 114 meters long and cathedral-high, and is the second largest sailing school in the world.
Called the name of a great Russian explorer, Adam Johann von Kruzenshtern, she spent several decades traveling the oceans and seas for scientific missions before joining his current home port Kaliningrad in 1991 and becoming a school sailboat.
Now familiar with the Bordeaux stopover, the Kruzenshtern will dock at the Quinconces Quay with a team of hundreds of cadets ready to let visitors discover all the hidden corners of this maritime monument.
