The Nutcracker is presented to the public for the first time in December 1892 in St. Petersburg at the Mariinsky Theater.

This Christmas tale tells the story of the young Clara who receives as a gift a nutcracker in the shape of a little man. In a night full of mysterious enchantment, the toys led by The Nutcracker engage in a fierce battle against the evil mice of the house. Awakened by the noise, Clara decides to face her fears by participating in the fight and saves her dear Nutcracker from danger. Moved by his courage and full of gratitude, he turns into a Prince Charming and takes Clara to a fairyland.

Two-act ballet, The Nutcracker is presented to the public for the first time in December 1892 in St. Petersburg at the Mariinsky Theater. Tchaikovsky's famous music performed by the talented orchestra and the virtuosity of the dancers is enhanced by the sets and costumes of the Russian National Opera.
