Bordeaux's most beautiful rooftops

Located throughout the city center, Bordeaux’s rooftops offer an exceptional view. They’re the ideal spot to spend a romantic evening under the stars, admiring the city lights. Some rooftops are even open in the morning and afternoon, letting you take breakfast and after-work cocktails with friends to new heights.

Swimming pool and underground view: the Jost rooftop

Venture behind the station and let yourself be surprised by this stunning rooftop concept-hotel right next to the convivial Place des Citernes. Once you climb to the 8th floor, you'll discover an almost 360-degree terrace offering unprecedented urban panoramas of the city. And for good reason, we have a front row seat to the spectacle of the transformation of a district that will soon become very much in the limelight. The menu offers Spritz in all its forms, with Italian-style snacks including arancini, focaccia and charcuterie boards. The highlight is the rooftop swimming pool, which is sometimes open to outside guests, particularly during brunches. The hotel owes its name to the 'Joy Of Staying Together' and is the first hotel to boast a performing arts venue, as well as being the first to combine a hotel with an 80-room hostel.

A colourful Arcachon Bay-style setting: Le Tchanqué rooftop

Unexpected and wonderfully well-placed, the rooftop of Le Tchanqué, although located in the heart of Les Chartrons, invites us to the Arcachon bay in an atmosphere of a guest house by the sea. The benches, knick-knacks and colourful designer furniture are a sight to behold. Overlooking the quays and the historic Chartrons district, its perched terrace offers a unique view of the city. Here you can savour gourmet local produce, exquisite seafood and dishes to share, all accompanied by signature wines and cocktails. The all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch brings the week to a close in style.

Spotlight on the Chaban Delmas Bridge: The Shasha rooftop

An ephemeral terrace perched high above the water, Shasha is the king of rooftops in the Bassins à Flots. Like cats, we too can climb onto the roofs of Bordeaux and enjoy its Golden Hour and its nighttime pleasures. The views are breathtaking. You can enjoy the golden reflections of the last rays of the day on the Garonne, as well as the view of the illuminated towers of the Chaban Delmas bridge. All this, without forgetting to admire the curves of the great carafe that is the Cité du Vin, a little further on. There's no hiding the fact that the cocktails are elaborate and available in the form of granités. The waiters carry small plates of chic Mediterranean specialities. From Thursday to Saturday, the DJ sets the mood. Sunday is brunch time with optional childcare.
