La Cité du Vin

Situated in Bordeaux, La Cité du Vin is a unique venue for culture and recreation where wine comes to life through an immersive, sensorial approach, all set within an evocative architectural design. La Cité du Vin gives a different view of wine, across the world, across the ages, across all cultures and all civilisations.

The permanent tour: A voyage of discovery to the heart of wine cultures

Embark on an immersive, sensory adventure to discover the cultures and civilisations of wine. In an open exhibition space occupying more than 3,000 m², nearly twenty different themed areas invite you to take a voyage of discovery and enjoy a unique experience exploring the many and varied facets of wine across time and space. A visit to the permanent tour also includes the travel companion, a free, innovative tool available in eight languages and the access to La Cité du Vin’s Belvedere, where you will discover a 360° view of Bordeaux whilst tasting a glass of world wine (50 ml).

Various exploration options are on offer through activities for all, young and old, from novices to enlightened enthusiasts. Thanks to personal experimentation and the support of cultural mediators, everyone can experience the wealth of wine as intangible heritage.

In 2020, free entrance for the children until 17th years old with their parents (from the 19th of June to the 30th of August)

The workshops (no workshops and guided tours at that time because of the Covid)

There are 3 different tasting spaces devoted to workshops, as well as educational spaces for young audiences. Every day, visitors have five different workshops to choose from.
