Shops open on sunday in Bordeaux

In Bordeaux, hundreds of stores, boutiques and stores welcome you every Sunday to extend your weekend shopping experience. In the heart of the city, near Saint-Michel or Chartrons, here are just a few of the neighborhoods where many stores are open on Sundays, not to mention a few cool malls and flea markets!

THE PROMENADE SAINTE-CATHERINE

In the heart of Bordeaux's historic center, adjacent to Rue Sainte-Catherine and Rue de la Porte Dijeaux, the Promenade Sainte-Catherine is ideally located, with direct access from Bordeaux's two most popular shopping streets. Its 37 stores and restaurants welcome you from Monday to Sunday, in an architectural setting that leaves plenty of room for greenery and light. Are you a LEGO fan? Don't miss this paradise of colorful little bricks, with its own store. On the fashion side, Citadium, Superdry and the young eco-responsible brand Picture have made their home here. Halfway between a store and a third place, IKOS brings together nine social economy structures to offer a varied range of second-hand products at low prices: books, games, home decor and a fashion corner with vintage nuggets. Often enlivened by concerts, shows and art installations, Promenade Sainte-Catherine even has its own webradio station. Here's an atypical shopping area in the heart of the city, where you can stroll, eat and treat yourself. Special mention should be made of the fountain on the first floor, a delight for little feet on hot days.

BORD'EAU VILLAGE

A stroll along the quays of Bordeaux on a Sunday is fun. An outing combining shopping, strolling and lunch with a view over the Garonne is even better! The Bord'eau Village stores have taken over the old warehouses, remnants of our city's port past, refurbished by architect Claude Marty in the 2000s. Today, the village is home to outlet stores for major brands such as le coq sportif, dpam and arena, as well as a wide variety of bars and restaurants, not to mention service activities and a management school. Our favorites: the concept store of the Australian brand Deus Ex Machina, the Café joyeux, the first family of solidarity cafés-restaurants to employ and train people with disabilities, and the new brand of outdoor specialist Le Vieux Campeur. The sunny terraces of Bord'eau Village are just waiting for you!

And while you're in the area, why not fill your basket with fresh fruit and vegetables at the quayside market, take a tour of the Chartrons district or immerse yourself in the fascinating world of science at Cap Sciences.

Did you know that the Quais walk, an 8 km itinerary stretching from one bank of the Garonne to the other between the Pont de Pierre and the Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas, has been awarded the "Tourisme & Handicap" disability label ? Here's the map
