Selection of gourmet restaurants

From the rocaille room of the mythical Chapon Fin to the starred addresses that thrill the taste buds, Bordeaux is establishing itself as an unavoidable reference for gourmet restaurants. A blend of heritage, terroir and creativity, the capital of Gironde reveals all the art of haute cuisine à la française.

Le Chapon Fin: the Bordeaux must-try

Since late 2023, Younesse Bouakkaoui has been officiating behind the pianos at Le Chapon Fin. In the Rocaille and Art Deco setting of this Bordeaux institution, this well-known Bordelais chef offers a cuisine that revives the fundamentals of French gastronomy. At once classic and highly sought-after, the Chapon Fin menu is a veritable eulogy to bourgeois cuisine, like its "blue" European lobster, Brannens pigeon smoked with vine shoots or fine apricot, thyme and toasted almond tart.

"I want to highlight the marvellous raw materials of our beautiful region, and show that the rustic can and must have its place in French and international haute gastronomy," says the chef.
