The Tour de France in Bordeaux

Bicycle enthusiasts and cycling fans, mark Friday, July 10, 2026 in your diaries from now on, the day the peloton of the Tour de France crosses the finish line in Bordeaux. Want to come and cheer on your favorite champions on the home straight of this 7th stage? We'll tell you all about it.

Tour de France 2026 in Bordeaux: the return of a legendary stage on July 10

The images of the triumphant arrival of the Tour de France 2023 on the Place des Quinconces are still fresh in everyone's memory. Three years later, the magic is about to happen again: Bordeaux will host a stage finish for the Tour de France 2026.

The announcement was made on October 23 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris by Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour. And it might as well be said that the public in Gironde can already tick the date of Friday, July 10, 2026 off their calendars.

From Hagetmau to Bordeaux: 175 km of emotions

The peloton will start from Hagetmau, in the south-west, for a stage of around 175 kilometers. The riders will cross the Landes forest, skirting the winding roads of the South-West before reaching the Bordeaux metropolis via the right bank of the Garonne. The passage over the brand-new Simone-Veil bridge will offer an exceptional panorama of the city before a finish judged right in the city center, on the Quinconces plaza.

A postcard setting for the Grande Boucle

The Grand Départ of this 113rd edition will take place in Barcelona on July 2, 2026, before the peloton crosses the Pyrenees to the plains of the Landes and Bordeaux, then up to the Dordogne, Corrèze and Massif Central. The world's cameras will once again capture the quays of the left bank, the Miroir d'eau, the UNESCO-listed city center and the effervescence of the Bordeaux public. This urban finale promises a massive sprint, in the tradition of the 2023 stage won by Jasper Philipsen.

A unique atmosphere at the Fan Park

To mark the Tour de France, the Fan Park set up in Bordeaux will be the beating heart of the event, with two days packed with cycling-themed activities on Thursday, July 9 (12 p.m.–8 p.m.) and Friday, July 10 (10 a.m.–6 p.m.). Along with Barcelona, Bordeaux is also the only city to host a Fan Park during the Tour.

On Thursday, the atmosphere will heat up starting at noon with a DJ set by Amplitude DJ (12 p.m.–2 p.m.), followed by a concert by the band Louise Weber at 6:15 p.m. The day will also feature the finish of the women’s race around 5:15 p.m.

On Friday, spectators can watch the stage live on a giant screen, with a second screen set up by the reflecting pool. The Tour caravan is expected around 3:30 p.m. (times subject to change), while the riders will arrive around 5:20 p.m.

In case of extreme heat, cooling measures will be in place (misting systems, water ramps, and water refill stations). Be sure to bring your water bottle.

Throughout the event, visitors of all ages will enjoy a variety of activities: sports introductions, creative workshops, waste sorting awareness sessions, a relaxation area, and a reading corner dedicated to cycling. Exhibits on environmental responsibility in sports and the history of the Tour in Bordeaux will round out the program, along with fun activities (photo booth, bike track, temporary tattoos) and spectacular demonstrations. Food trucks will be on hand to serve you.

The Bordeaux Tourisme team welcomes you at its booth in the Fan Park, as well as at the tourist office, just a two-minute walk from Place des Quinconces, at 12 Cours du XXX Juillet. While you’re there, be sure to pick up T-shirts, caps, and other Tour de France-themed souvenirs at our shop.

For your convenience, a large bike parking area will be available nearby.

Finally, two areas accessible to people with limited mobility will be set up along the riverbanks, featuring sheltered spaces. As for the Fan Park, we recommend coming with a companion, as the gravel on the Place des Quinconces can make getting around difficult.
