The Château La Tour de Bessan in the Margaux appellation belongs to Marie-Laure Lurton. This experienced wine maker also owns the Château de Villegeorge in the Haut-Médoc. Both domains are certified by Terra Vitis, a certification system that upholds environmentally friendly viticulture practices since 2003.

The contemporary architecture of the cellars at Château La Tour de Bessan certainly doesn’t go unnoticed: the cellars are housed in a 1934 building that was renovated and transformed into the production site in 1999 by the architect Vincent Defos du Rau.
Come and discover what goes on behind the scenes in the winery: you will be accompanied by a member of our team, either Marie-Laure Lurton herself or the cellar master, Jean-Luc Brégille. Guided visits, tasting and blending workshops are all available.

We also offer blending workshops! This is a fun and educational way of learning about the different characteristics of each grape variety and understanding the secrets of blending. We have a choice of 2 workshops, both starting with a guided visit of the cellars.

Blending Workshop N° 1: Tasting 3 grape varieties, a mystery blend, followed by a vintage of Château La Tour de Bessan served with chocolates from “Demoiselle de Margaux”. Duration 1h30

Blending Workshop N° 2: Minimum 2 people
Tasting 3 grape varieties, a mystery blend, followed by a vintage of Château La Tour de Bessan served with chocolates from “Demoiselle de Margaux”. After this you create your own bottle of wine, your own blend which you take home with you, once you’ve corked it, put a capsule on and labelled it. Duration 2h
