Château de Malherbes

Best Of Wine Tourism, Vignobles et découvertes

An exceptional wine estate located in Latresne, on the right bank of the Gironde, at the gates of Bordeaux. The property extends over 24 hectares, 12 of which are vineyards. The garden is home to a magnificent 14th century castle built by a knight, Guilhem de Malherbes.

The vineyard is a single plot of 12 hectares with a terroir remarkable in its composition, alternating between gravels and clay on a clay-limestone subsoil. The domain is certified HVE 3 (high environmental value level 3).

The new Gravitational Cellar offers visitors an immersive experience allowing to understand the different stages of wine making. Walking through the cellar one learns all about the process of vinification by gravity, from the reception of the harvest and its sorting to the fermentation in the vats and then aging in barrels. Follow the path of the grapes throughout the vinification process and understand the journey of this this precious nectar on its way to become a Malherbes wine.

Thanks to its high potential, Château de Malherbes aims to become a new gem within Bordeaux vineyards by proposing a unique wine tourism offer.

Indeed, we will propose an immersive experience in the heart of the vineyards allowing to feel and live the wine through all the five senses.
