Château Malescasse

Best Of Wine Tourism

In the heart of Haut Medoc, near the well-known « Route des châteaux », discover our wine estate: Château Malescasse. Between Margaux and Saint-Julien Beychevelle, on a gravel mound similar to those found at the first growths which made the Medoc famous, our vineyard covers 36 hectares (89 acres), and benefits from the balance of a temperate oceanic climate and optimal sunshine.

In 2012, Philippe Austruy, who is also the owner of La Commanderie de Peyrassol, one of the most prestigious growths of Provence, acquired this château with the ambition of taking it to the highest ranks of the appellation.
He brought in Stéphane Derenoncourt, a famous winemaker, whose skill, vision, and precision work are widely acknowledged, entrusting him with the mission of taking the wines produced at the château to excellence.

A tasting of the delicious wines of Château Malescasse, as well as a tour of the completely refurbished and redesigned barrel cellar and vat room, are well worth the detour.
The wines produced in the other owner’s estates will also be there for you to discover: the superb rosés, reds and whites of La Commanderie de Peyrassol as well as the stunning Portuguese dry white wine from the Douro, Quinta Da Côrte.
