Château La Garde

Best Of Wine Tourism, Vignobles et découvertes

Just 20 minutes from Bordeaux, Château La Garde in the Pessac-Léognan appellation is a veritable showcase of nature and biodiversity. The teams at the Château produce red and white wines from a wide variety of terroirs. In fact, its single vineyard contains no fewer than 27 different types of soil, all of which express themselves through precision viticulture.

They offer a subtle balance between freshness and aromatic richness, between elegance and character, while making the most of what nature has to offer.

VISITE MOSAIC :

To continue the experience, Château La Garde is also offering a tasting tour to discover its mosaic of soils. Expressed through 6 limited-edition cuvées, this Mosaïc range gives an insight into the different effects of terroir on the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, and is a fine illustration of the range of options available to the winemaker when blending the Grand Vin. Ideal for visitors looking for an unusual experience, this tour includes a tasting of the 6 "Mosaïc" cuvées, as well as the red Château La Garde grand vin. Château La Garde Mosaïc is a limited-edition boxed set created in collaboration with local artist Jean-Baptiste Besançon. The Château has selected a work of art and isolated "extracts" to create the 6 labels, one for each cuvée.

The tour is completely self-guided, using a digital tool with videos explaining the varied ecosystem of amphibians, dragonflies, bats and numerous bird species. The 1.5 km route is accessible by soft mobility. A tasting of three wines is included at the end of the tour.
