Château du Mayne La Merci
Located in Barsac, 800 meters from the Ciron and the Garonne rivers, the Château du Mayne La Merci is a 10-hectare enclosure, 7 of which are dedicated to vines. Its 18th-century residence, nestled in the heart of a wonderful 2-hectare green setting, was the birthplace of the Venerable Marie-Thérèse-Charlotte de Lamourous, founder of the Order of Mercy from which the Mayne "La Merci" takes its name.
Cultivated using organic farming methods, the vineyard benefits from a very rich biodiversity which favors the expression of its siliceous-gravelly terroir and the production of a Sauternes wine which has always been characterized by its freshness and liveliness.
In 2024, a majestic plane tree overlooking the vineyard was selected to represent the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in the Tree of the Year competition.
Established since 2017, Gilles et Brigitte Bourjade and their daughter Caroline are writing a new chapter in the history of this estate which has known hours of glory, and wish to share it with passion through visits and tastings by appointment.
