Château Beau Rivage et Clos la Bohème

AB - Agriculture Biologique, Vigneron Indépendant

Château Beau Rivage is one of the new wave Bordeaux wines leaded by Christine Nadalié since 1995. Located along the Garonne banks in Macau-en-Médoc, at about 5 km from Margaux, this winery was purchased in 1995 by the Nadalié's, a famous cooper family. Back in 1908, Château Beau Rivage was already present at the London Universal Fair.

Château Beau Rivage is composed of the 5 varietals representative of Médoc area: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. With a limited surface (8 hectares) and reduced production, we focus on quality: harvest by hand, grape selection and picking off, and maturation in barrels only (100%). The alcoholic fermentation is made in oak tanks, with long maceration. Our wines are then aged in Nadalié French oak barrels (60% new) during 12 to 18 months.

Christine Nadalié gives free rein to her creativity. With her worldwide winemaking experience, she is always looking for innovation. Assets of modern and traditional techniques are combined to produce outstanding wines for a large audience. She benefits from the different experiences in the old world (Château Palmer) and from her work in South Africa, Napa Valley and Spain to achieve new wave Bordeaux, but with a very sensitive hear to the vineyard and “terroir”. “All my travels confirm me that the wine planet is full of wonderful things. I try to make a synthesis of it: I make the wine that I love and my biggest pleasure is to share it!”. Aware of the environment concern, the vineyard is totally converted in Organic Culture since 2008. We do not use chemicals in the vines, we plough our soils and keep the grass between the rows for a natural regulation of the vine plants. We work now progressively on a Biodynamic approach.

The château is also open on Saturdays and Sundays in July and August, and has a reception area for motorhomes belonging to the France Passion network.
