Bordeaux Lac - Bacalan

"Bordeaux's garden" and an urban lake.

Must see

Just 10 minutes north of the Place des Quinconces, the Quartier du Lac (or lake district) is a blend of different architectural styles

Major trade fairs and exhibitions are held here, and there are many outdoor leisure activities all year round.

Everything is centred around the lake, which is surrounded by greenery, woods, glades, and high-quality housing. The architect and landscape architect Xavier Arsène-Henry is the person behind this new district built on former marshland starting in 1965. The Exhibition Centre, the Convention Centre, a hotel district, the Floral Park, and sports facilities are just some of the installations and institutions found here. The now Ginko eco-district epitomises the many changes taking place…

In addition, Bordeaux-Lac features a four-star international camp site in Bordeaux-Bruges, a sailing and rowing club, a fitness trail, a golf course, and a new stadium!

The Bordeaux Lac Casino, a leisure complex on the outskirts of the city, features slot machines, poker, roulette, etc. as well as a restaurant and auditorium for all kinds of performances.

Located in the heart of the Bordeaux Lac hotel district, accessible by tram at the end of 2014, Casino Barrière is one of the most important in France (5th place in 2013).

The casino offers all the usual games and has 300 slot machines, with bets from 1 centime to 10 €, as well as table games, poker, etc.

Open every day until 4 am, including Sunday, Casino Barrière also has two bars and two restaurants, and organises numerous themed evenings.

An auditorium seating 700 is the venue for various shows and concerts: French and international singers, comedians, classical music, etc.

After Monaco and Deauville, Bordeaux is your new casino destination!
