The Bordeaux electric tourist train - by France Voguette

The little electric train of our chilhood still exists in Bordeaux. It takes 45 minutes to cover most of the historic centre. Are you children dragging their feet at the idea of crossing the city to admire an 18th-century masterpiece? Then get on board the little tourist train right away ! Departing from the Allées de Tourny, it winds its way through Bordeaux's oldest districts.

At is own pace, to make the most of the scenery, the little electric train takes us close to the city's most famous landmarks and monuments.

Skirting the quays and the famous Place de la Bourse, it then plunges into the heart of Old Bordeaux, past the Porte Cailhau, and through Europe's longest pedestrian shopping street Rue Sainte Catherine.

Did you know, for example, that the golden lion at the top of the Grosse Cloche faces the river when the weather is fine? The local say it's because he's thirsty !

Whether you're a couple, a family or a group of friends, a tour of the city on the little train is an ideal way to spend some quality time together and discover Bordeaux in an unusual way. So, get on board !

Invite your foreign friends along, as audio commentaries in 9 languages (French, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Chinese and Japanese) tell the story of the city in anecdotes.

Tickets on sale at Bordeaux Tourist Office only (at the counter or online).
