15 minutes far from Bordeaux downtown, Château Pape Clément is a good example of an urban vineyard, as its well-known neighbor Château Haut-Brion.

This is one of the oldest Grands Crus in the whole Bordeaux region. The vineyard was planted in the 13th century by Bertrand de Goth, who went on to become Pope Clement V. The estate prides itself on having produced wine on the same land for 7 centuries.

Rich in history, Château Pape Clément can also be proud of its beautiful park, architecture and arts, as the beautiful glasshouse built by Gustave Eiffel.

Several tours & tastings are available, everyday (Sunday included), on reservation.
Discover our historic and technical tours, for budding connoisseurs or serious collectors, with outstanding tastings (verticals, matching wine and caviar,…).

It ends with the tasting in the beautiful boutique, where furniture comes from a former pharmacy, and where you can discover all the wines from M.Magrez’s 40 properties around the world!

To complete the experience, enjoy a night in one of the 5 rooms in the Château, typical of the “art de vivre à la française”!

The Château Pape Clément team testifies in favour of the estate eco-responsible commitment: It has been a few years now since the environment is in the heart of the Château's everyday preoccupations. As a proof, the varied labels the estate has obtained to certify the eco-friendly actions for its ecosystem: Terra Vitis, High Environmental Value level 3, ISO 14001 and more recently, the Bee Friendly label (protection for pollinating bees). Our commitment can be illustrated by the presence of a 45 sheep herd, that participative in the vineyard’s eco-pasture during the winter period. Thus, we contribute to the preservation of local species on the brink of extinction. Our will to produce wines in a sustainable approach is part of the Château philosophy and lifestyle".
