Traverse, Bordeaux's river event
14 - 18 May
From May 14 to 18, 2025, the Bordeaux metropolis invites you to embark on Traverse, the new festive event for exploring rivers.
Traverse: a festival celebrating rivers
From May 14 to 18, Traverse highlights the river as a place to live, work and innovate through four themes:
The river of tomorrow: An educational project involving 800 schoolchildren to imagine the future of the river. The river of projects: Over 200 events proposed by local players. The little-known river: Night-time projections by Olivier Crouzel revealing the hidden beauty of the riverbanks. The practiced river: A major nautical parade with 250 boats on May 18.
With 5 days of events between Villenave d'Ornon and Ambès, Traverse invites visitors to explore the river via Phares (activity villages), Sémaphores (exhibitions and meetings) and Pavillons (art installations), encouraging discovery by boat or soft mobility.
Mediation for a better understanding and appropriation of the river
Spaces for meeting and dialogue with those who work around the river. Scientists, urban planners, sailors, artists, associations and local residents will share their expertise and experiences.
