Domaine de Beauval - Eolienne de Bollée

The Bollée wind turbine, located on the Beauval estate in Bassens, is the result of the work of Auguste Bollée, a hydraulic engineer. Renovated in 1995, it currently contributes to the watering of the domain
This type of wind turbine, the Bollée wind turbine, was conceptualized by Ernest Sylvain Bollée and was used to pump water. Today in France only about forty wind turbines of this type remain visible.
The wind turbine is located in the heart of the Beauval domain, a site with a strong built heritage. In addition to the wind turbine, the site includes an 18th century castle, a wash house, a farm, a vat house, a wine storehouse, a greenhouse, a turret and an underground room.
