The 2016 UEFA EURO championship in Bordeaux!
The 2016 UEFA EURO championship takes place in France from the 10th of june to the 10th of July, Bordeaux will welcome up to 5 matches including one quarter-finals!
A huge Fan Zone
During all the competition time an immense fan zone will be set-up on the “Esplanade des Quinconces” and will broadcast the different matches along with a rich event program. It will be one of the widest fan zones among the 10 cities welcoming the 2016 EURO Championship. All of the 51 matches will be broadcasted on a giant screen of 116 m². Entirely free, the fan zone will be a strong gathering space both dedicated to celebration and football. 91 animation projects including various themes have been selected by Bordeaux Town Hall in order to impulse a good pace to the whole celebration period. Concerts will also be part of the program on non-playing days.
A brand new stadium
Including more than 43 000 places, the New Stadium is the biggest scene over the whole Atlantic coast.
Both spectators and players, including disabled persons, will be offered an astounding setting and exceptional comfort conditions to live together this thrilling not-to-miss event!
The red devils camp
The belgian football team has chosen Bordeaux to be their base camp all over the championship period. The team will be hosted at The Golf du Médoc located at Le Pian-Médoc. The training sessions will take place at the Haillan Centre and the public sessions will be handled at the Chaban-Delmas Stadium. Two other sites in Aquitaine have been qualified by the UEFA to possibly welcome Euro Teams during the competition : Pau (hôtel du Palais Beaumont et stade du Hameau) and Biarritz (hôtel du Palais)/Saint-Jean-de-Luz (stade de Kechiloa).
In this new EURO CHAMPIONSHIP Edition, the first including 24 teams, the nations will be split into six groups of 4.
At the end of the pool matches, the two best teams out of each group and also the four best teams ranked third will be qualified for the round of sixteen.
