Château Léoville Poyferré

Vignobles et découvertes

Léoville is located in Saint-Julien, in the heart of the Médoc, 45 km north-west of Bordeaux. The origin of the estate dates back to 1638. At the time of the French Revolution, Léoville was the largest domain in the Médoc. Following different divisions and successions, Léoville Poyferré was established in 1840. Fifteen years later, the château was consecrated during the famous Classification of 1855 when it obtained the rank of Second Classified Growth.

The Cuvelier family, wine merchants in Lille since 1804, acquired Château Léoville Poyferré and Château Moulin Riche in 1920, both in St Julien. The family already owned Château le Crock, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in Saint-Estèphe, since 1903. Didier Cuvelier has managed the 3 properties since 1979.

In 2005, Anne Cuvelier joined Château Léoville Poyferré to create and develop receptions and wine tours.

The Château has a superb reception room, both modern and functional; ideal for organizing gala dinners, seminars and weddings ... With a capacity of 230 people, this modular room opens onto a generous 250 m2 terrace overlooking the vineyards.

Château Léoville Poyferré is open for winery tours. Our international team (French, American and Chinese) is pleased to show visitors the property and share our savoir-faire with wine lovers from around the world.
