A welcoming wine-grower, a passionate Chef and the wines Bordeaux people drink!
06:30 pm – Departure from the Bordeaux Tourist Office to Pessac-Leognan appellation.
Out of Bordeaux, we drive through this historical area known as the birthplace of Bordeaux vineyards and the homeland of French philosopher Montesquieu, along some of the most well-known Graves Classified Growths. The wines produced in Graves are renowned and appreciated both for their complex whites and elegant reds.
07:15 pm: Visit of a local family-owned estate - Domaine de Merlet, Château Pontac-Monplaisir or Château Baulos-Charmes*…
Passion-driven winegrowers respectful of their terroirs tell us about their work, the history of their winery and of the wines they make following slowly the seasons’ natural cycle. A nice moment to meet a genuine winemaker, talk about wine…and of course share a glass together !
08:00 pm: we carry on through the vineyard to our next stop for a dinner in the heart of Pessac-Leognan
08:30 pm: Dinner at Domaine de Larchey*
After prestigious places such as le Relais de Margaux or Les Sources de Caudalie, the Chef Guillaume Germanez is now in charge of the restaurant at Domaine de Larchey. He selects seasonal products with care and passion. The starter, main course and dessert of his choice will be specially prepared for this evening.
The wines will be chosen accordingly for a perfect match with each dish and will best convey all the elegance of Graves and Pessac-Leognan area: 1 glass of white, 2 glasses of red, still water and coffee included.
